Bob joined this firm January 2, 2001 after practicing in Independence for over 20 years. Bob has spent his entire career representing victims of medical negligence and persons who have suffered serious personal injury or loss of a family member from the negligence of others. Bob has a special interest in cases involving birth trauma and injuries to children. Bob spends a considerable amount of time educating himself on complex medical issues in order that he might better represent his clients. Bob strongly believes that medical negligence litigation improves the quality of health care and strives to have an impact himself through the cases he pursues.

Bob enjoys recognition by his peers in the legal community with a rating of "AV", which sets him at the top of his profession in both legal ability and professional integrity. He is also proud that all three of his partners have this highest rating, and that his firm is recognized as one of the preeminent firms in the Kansas City area. Bob has been recognized by KC Magazine in November 2008, and 2009, as a Super Lawyer. Only 5% of lawyers in Missouri and Kansas are selected each year.

Bob was born and raised in Independence and continues to reside there. He is very active in the community. He serves as the moderator for Maywood Baptist Church.

Bob also started a nonprofit organization in 2007 called Bears Tomorrow, Inc. and is very active in running this organization as its President. He also spends considerable time coaching various basketball teams sponsored by Bears Tomorrow. The mission of Bears Tomorrow is to help develop future athletes of William Chrisman High School and to develop leadership skills, especially in “at risk” students. Bob is also very active at William Chrisman High School where he announces all home football games and all boys’ varsity basketball games. He also serves as Vice President of the Foundation of the Independence School District. Bob and his wife, Kim, are both graduates of William Chrisman and fund an annual scholarship for graduating seniors from William Chrisman.

He has served as President of the Eastern Jackson County Bar Association, and served on the Board of Governors for the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys for nearly 20 years. Bob’s wife, Kim Buckley, has served as his paralegal for over 20 years and also serves the law firm as office manager. He is also most proud of his three stepchildren.
